A 33-year-old Florida man, Colton Vanhonhenstien, was arrested after allegedly attempting to rob an unlocked Wells Fargo bank on a Saturday evening. Surveillance footage captured Vanhonhenstien purchasing a mask at a gas station around 7 p.m. before he entered the bank, where he found only empty drawers and cabinets. The bank's alarm system notified the Martin County Sheriff's Office of a "bank robbery in-progress," but deputies arrived after the suspect had already left. Vanhonhenstien was arrested on Wednesday and charged with burglary. Authorities are investigating why the bank door was left unlocked and why there was a delay in the alarm system's notification.
